Welcome to my new web site blog for Power Rangers, Sentai, Kamen Rider, Toy Collecting and other Tokusatsu.

This has been an idea I have been musing over for a few years now. It’s taken me a while to find the time to work on this web site but, now it is complete, it should be fairly easy to keep up to date.

I’ve been a Power Rangers fan since the beginning. It took me a while to get into the show but, after watching the “Green With Evil” saga, I was hooked. I kinda felt obliged to grow out of the show when Power Rangers Turbo hit the screens (around the time when the original cast were replaced). Call it a mixture of disappointment with the direction of the show during the Turbo season and peer pressure from my friends who didn’t understand my enthusiasm for the show, I stopped watching / collecting in 1998 but the show always had a special place in my heart.

Many years later, around the time when Power Rangers Dino Thunder aired, I began to reignite my passion for the show. I started to visit sites like RangerCentral.com and RangerBoard.com and soon found myself hooked again. Dino Thunder was the first season I had followed since Turbo (Must have had something to do with the great Tommy Oliver returning) and, after finishing Dino Thunder, I then began to watch the show from the beginning to recap on the events I had missed.

My top 5 favourite seasons are:

  1. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (of course)
  2. Power Rangers Time Force
  3. Power Rangers in Space
  4. Power Rangers Zeo
  5. Power Rangers Dino Thunder

Tommy Oliver is my favourite character hands down and I’m sure I’m not the only Power Rangers fan to think so lol. He was a huge inspiration to me as a kid and still is today. He was my childhood hero and that helped me through many difficult times when I was growing up. I’m a huge fan of the Season 2 – 3 period of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as I felt the team were a more well oiled fighting machine by this point in the show and I am a huge fan of the White Ranger. Many Tommy fans prefer his Green Ranger period to White but I felt that, when he stepped up to lead the team, he had better character development by that point in the show.

Shortly after I started following the show again, I also started up my toy / memorabilia collection again. I could never bring myself to get rid of my old toys so I started by rescuing all my old toys from my attic where they had been imprisoned for 6+ years! Soon after, unfortunately for my bank account, I discovered eBay etc and began adding to my collection once again. I also learned of the existence of Sentai and the superior quality of the Japanese merchandise.

A few years later, I decided to check out Kamen Rider after having heard so many good things about it. I started by watching the current series at the time – Kamen Rider Kabuto and, once again, I was hooked! Since then I have also enjoyed Garo, Sh15uya and a few random episodes of Sentai thanks to the awesome folks at TV-Nihon. I have yet to get into Sentai (other than collecting the merchandise) as I guess I’ll always be a Power Ranger fan at heart. Although, since the recent announcement that there will be no new Sentai adaptations this year, I may start checking it out.

These days, my Toku addiction is a closely guarded secret as my friends would never understand and its kinda embarrassing. Only my family and a few trusted individuals know that I am still a Toku nut at the age of 26, hence my internet pseudonym – tiger_zord9.

This web site will mainly focus on my ever growing toy collection and my love for photographing it and showing it off. I have bought a premium Photobucket account to host the pictures of my collection and I will use this web site to show them off as I have so many pics now that I’ve made far too many bandwidth heavy threads on RangerBoard.com etc that do not receive many viewings as a result. Stay tuned for pics of my collection, in the meantime, you can visit my Photobucket Account.

However, I will also use this blog to post the latest toku news (while avoiding plagiarizing other web sites) and my thoughts on new episodes, seasons and developments.

I hope you will enjoy this web site.
